Premier Mounts is all about strategic partnerships, innovation, and exceeding expectations. We specialize in keeping the goal in sight. At the core is the design and engineering team consisting of an exclusive group of top-flight engineers who are at the peak of their profession. Their focus allows for personal engagements with clients so that solutions are perfectly tailored to requests. With that in mind including 40 years of trusted OEM relationships, it was only natural for the team at Lighthouse Technologies to reach out to team at Premier Dedicated Solutions to work in partnership and design the perfect mounting solution for their new Dynamic Series direct view LED flat panel display product lineup. Of course, it all begins with the display to be mounted and working from there but there is more to the story.
As we all know, the display industry is dominated by flat panel displays spanning applications from home televisions, to digital signage hanging on walls or suspended from ceilings, all the way up to giant outdoor LED signs. To be sure, LCD flat panel displays still dominate the conversation for most small to medium display applications, but it is the need for bigger images where things get interesting. While LCDs can address big images with a matrix of panels in a videowall, it is the emergence of indoor fine pitch direct view LED that provides insight into the future of truly seamless large screen displays. Premier Mounts PDS is on the cusp of this burgeoning trend and this is where Lighthouse Technologies fits in.
Lighthouse understood that there are two remaining obstacles to wider adoption of fine pitch direct view LED. One is the complexity of configuring individual led panels or tiles into a bigger display, and the second is the issue of pricing. Both obstacles are addressed with the introduction of the Lighthouse Technologies new Dynamic series LED displays.
Playing to one of the strong suits of fine pitch direct view LED, the Lighthouse Dynamic series 2.5MM is seamless and comes in 89” and 118” models. Breaking new ground, they come complete as a preconfigured and framed group of LED modules on a backplane. The modules are cable-free and can be serviced from the front via a magnetic tool. A person simply orders (and receives) Dynamic just as they would a traditional LCD flat panel display with no configuration or assembly of small modules to consider. In short, no learning curve required.
The second obstacle to direct view LED overall has been price. With increased volume and new manufacturing methods, prices are beginning to reflect the benefits. The new Dynamic series at 2.5MM is a prime example of this trend, and hits the sweet spot of not only the market but the prices as well. The Dynamic is priced competitively with comparably sized commercial grade flat panel configurations. The Dynamic proves the point that necessity IS the mother of invention!
As the Premier Dedicated Solutions engineering team looked at the design and engineering perspective it was obvious that the Dynamic required work beyond taking a stock product off the shelf. For example, the product design did not lend itself to a standard Vesa mount pattern. This necessitated structural engineering that dispersed the weight evenly over the back of the display but do so without becoming visually intrusive. Since the display would be used in various applications including rental and staging, this necessitated a mount that would rotate freely 360 degrees and include a locking mechanism.
It is a partnership where each party brings something to the table and the result is more than the sum of its parts.
